I wish everyone had the opportunity to hunt with Chip and Backcountry Shorthairs. My brother-in-law and I had the good fortune to hunt with him yesterday at Greystone Castle near Thurber, Tx. Everything about the hunt, to his dogs, to his knowledge was first class. In addition to that, Chip was extremely personable and hospitable. I look forward to hunting with him again. We booked a hunt with Chip & his dogs, we were looking for Huns & Chukars. It was me, my husband, and our 5 year old son. We didn’t get to cover alot of ground because of our son hunting with us and not wanting to wear him down, however Chip & the dogs put us on birds. We got into both Huns & Chukars and it was awesome! We really enjoyed hunting with him & his dog crew. He taught us alot about hunting wild birds and his dogs put on a great show and was an honor to hunt behind and watch them work. Thank you, Chip, for taking the time to hunt with us, teach us, and let our 5 year old (Raylan) tag along. He’s mentioned you & your dogs even since being home. We all had a blast!
