FAQ

Do you have lodging available?
Just announced for this season we have all inclusive lodging just south of casper right on the north platte river. Its a perfect place to relax and have our chef prepare all your meals.

What hunts have the highest success rate?
Sage Grouse hunts we expect to limit out each day often with enough time to chase some other birds. Blue, Ruffed, or Sharptail Grouse hunts are also hunts I expect to limit out on each day.

Can I bring my own dog(s)?
Yes! I encourage hunters with dogs to bring them. We can hunt just yours or mix them in with mine on the hunt.

Is hunter orange required to hunt birds in Wyoming?
NO, If fact I do not recommend wearing orange to hunt Sage Grouse, Chukar, or Huns. I do suggest orange while hunting Blue and Ruffed grouse.

Can I follow you to the hunt area in my own vehicle?
You can, but many of the roads are rough dirt and 2-track roads through the Wyoming desert and forests. Please be prepared for off road travel.

How far is it to the hunt area?
Depending on what species you would like to target driving time will be 45min-2hrs

When is Jackalope season?
Doe Jackalopes can be hunted with your bird/small game license all season, however, buck tags are on a limited draw basis only.

When/What birds do you release?
Never! None! Not a single one! Every bird we hunt is hatched and learned to fly where we find them.

Have you ever been skunked on a guided hunt?
Unfortunately yes, there have been a couple times over the years we have had a bad day and not put a bird in the bag on a chukar/hun hunt.

What gauge shotgun and shot size should I use?
I recommend a 20ga with 6 shot for all upland birds. A 28ga is also excellent.

Can I use a semi auto shotgun?
Yes, In fact I like using my semi 28ga with 5 shot for chukar hunting. To be legal, semi autos may only accept 2 rds in the magazine.

I’m a terrible shot. Can the guide shoot with me so it looks like I got something?
Sure, Just ask and we will be happy to. We also promise to tell your friends you shot them all!
